Mommy and Me
Our Mommy and Me classes provide an innovative approach to early learning and language development for students ages 2-5 years old. Your child will learn how to include more fruits and vegetables when making healthy snacks at home. A typical program consists of six 1.25-hour classes led by a Healthy Hands Cooking certified instructor or helper. Classes help preschoolers measure, mix, and blend while having fun during storytime and participating in physical fitness activities.
Palmetto Kids Cooking instructors are certified to teach Healthy Hands Cooking’s Lil’ Sprouts curriculum in fun-filled, age-appropriate classes that are bursting with hands-on activities and games. Just like many of our other classes, Mommy and Me is tailored to build awareness of health and nutrition. Of course, we also give your little ones the opportunity to create their own special healthy snacks.
hands on activities
Through hands-on activities preschool children see, feel, hear and experience the world around them in order to expand their knowledge and become better readers, writers and speakers. The children practice colors, counting, and language skills in each class.
When children take part in creating meals, they are much more interested in actually eating the foods they put together. We take this opportunity to toss in something new to stimulate their senses with a whole spectrum of colors and flavors. Caregivers learn along with the children and are encouraged to questions regarding nutrition, and strategies for picky-eaters.
